Home batteries make financial sense right now. Time-of-use tariffs like Octopus Go let you charge overnight at 9.5p/kWh and avoid daytime rates of 33.6p to 37.4p (Octopus Go 12M Fixed, checked 10 October 2026). On a 5 kWh battery that is up to about £420 to £490 a year, best case with a full daily cycle, so real savings will be lower (see how we worked it out). No solar panels needed.

The problem? Buying a home battery is confusing. Dozens of brands, incompatible inverters, unclear specs, and installers who won't return your calls. Most people give up before they start.

What Habo Energy does differently

We sell one carefully chosen 5 kWh all-in-one EcoFlow STREAM box, electrician-wired to your consumer unit under G98 and BS 7671. Fully installed from £2,499 at 0% VAT. Not a plug-in battery. Plugging a battery into a UK socket and feeding the house is not legal.
