On the current Octopus Go 12-month fixed tariff (GO-FIX-12M-26-09-29, region M, checked 10 October 2026), households in Yorkshire pay 33.555p/kWh during the day and 9.5p/kWh overnight (00:30–05:30), with a standing charge of 60.86p/day. The off-peak rate is the same across all regions; the daytime rate varies.

The battery charges overnight at 9.5p and powers your home during the day, avoiding the 33.555p daytime rate. The saving is the difference between what the stored energy would have cost at the day rate and what it cost to charge overnight, allowing for charging losses.
